University of Arizona researchers have developed a new class of drugs that is able to cross the blood-brain barrier and could be used to treat degenerative neurological diseases and conditions. The university has licensed these new drug designs to startup Teleport Pharmaceuticals.

On June 14 and 15, 2022, the National Academy of Inventors gathered for its 11th annual meeting at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix, Arizona. The event included ceremonies honoring the newest class of NAI Senior Members and Fellows, which included five UArizona inventors.

Between FY2017 and FY2021, TLA activities generated a $1.61 billion economic output and supported thousands of jobs. A new report on the economic impacts generated by the UArizona commercialization office outlines these findings and projects continued growth over the next 10 years.

UArizona researchers have invented new strategies to mitigate these attacks by helping make cybersecurity for the “internet of things” (IoT) more accessible. Based on the technology, they have launched a startup, BG Networks, to bring the invention to the public.

An optical sciences Ph.D. student has developed a new way for precisely measuring radio antenna surfaces. TLA worked with him to patent the technology and now he has launched a startup, Fringe Metrology.
