Student Assistant - Student Ventures Team

Tech Launch Arizona (TLA) is seeking motivated undergraduate students for the position of Student Assistant for the Student Ventures team. The successful candidates will be responsible for engaging with university students exploring the continuum of entrepreneurship, including entrepreneurial mindset development to venture creation and launch. Student Assistants engage in event planning and execution, campus outreach, diverse project management and other operational tasks.      

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct consultations/orientations for students interested in Student Venture programs and services. 
  • Assist in the education of the university community on entrepreneurial mindset and venture development.
  • Participate in the development and execution of programs and events – including staffing events, assisting with event logistics, and bringing ideas forward.
  • Facilitate campus outreach in person and via social media to recruit student participants for TLA Student Venture programs and events.
  • Collaborate on small working teams focused on operational tasks, team goals, and program initiatives.
  • Engage in public speaking in person and on virtual platforms.
  • Perform administration duties that require basic computing skills, including Word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet navigation and cloud operations.
  • Other duties as assigned based on the evolving needs of TLA and student employee’s interests.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with or desire to develop more skills in peer support/mentoring 
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Creative, problem-solving mindset
  • Experience with some project management
  • Strong organizational systems to self-manage tasks, rotating locations, and commitments
  • Interest in being entrepreneurial or becoming an entrepreneur
  • Undergraduate students only

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work 10 hours per week during the academic year
  • Organized and efficient
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Microsoft Office experience including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Federal Work Study eligible preferred, but not required
  • Available during the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters, consecutively
