On June 14 and 15, 2022, the National Academy of Inventors gathered for its 11th annual meeting at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix, Arizona. The event included ceremonies honoring the newest class of NAI Senior Members and Fellows, which included five UArizona inventors.

Between FY2017 and FY2021, TLA activities generated a $1.61 billion economic output and supported thousands of jobs. A new report on the economic impacts generated by the UArizona commercialization office outlines these findings and projects continued growth over the next 10 years.

Professor Jeffrey Pyun and Assistant Professor Thomas Gianetti have been recognized with new UArizona faculty awards for innovation and entrepreneurship; both demonstrated significant involvement in expanding the impact of their research to the public good through a focus on commercialization.

Around the world, countries are on the cyber-offense. UArizona researchers have invented new strategies to mitigate these attacks by helping make cybersecurity for the “internet of things” (IoT) more accessible. Based on the technology, they have launched a startup, BG Networks, to bring the invention to the public.
