Startups are new companies formed to commercialize U of A inventions and TLA has helped launch over 150 of them.
Protecting inventions through intellectual property increases the opportunity for them to affect people's lives and maximizes the chance for a product to be unique in the marketplace, thats why TLA has supported 615 inventors in getting their inventions patented.
Through the end of June 30, 2021, TLA activities generated thousands of high-tech sector jobs.
Between FY2017 and FY2021, TLA and its related activities generated an economic output of $1.61 billion.
