Prior to joining Tech Launch Arizona, Scott co-founded uPetsia, an early-stage company recognized by Purina with the Pet Care Innovation Prize for its novel fresh-breath ingredient product for dogs. The company was selected for the Flinn Foundation Bioscience Entrepreneurship Program.

Scott holds an undergraduate degree in Materials Science and Engineering. He gained valuable experience through internships at The Walt Disney Company and Argonne National Laboratory. He later worked as a process engineer at Howmet Aerospace and Motorola, in the investment casting and semiconductor industries, respectively.

His interest in intellectual property and technology transfer was sparked during his MBA studies, where he served as a technology transfer associate at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Later, he held roles in sales and marketing, product development, and capital project development at Air Liquide, where he earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

An inspiring encounter with a Canadian long-distance bicycle tourist while studying Spanish in South America motivated Scott to embark on two extensive bicycle tours. He covered nearly 80,000 kilometers, cycling through 48 countries across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
