Rakhi Gibbons

Rakhi Gibbons is the Director of Licensing and IP at Tech Launch Arizona (TLA) at the University of Arizona. As a member of TLA's leadership team, she provides strategic leadership for the university's licensing, intellectual property, and commercialization activities, helping transform university discoveries into products, companies and partnerships that create economic and societal impact.

With more than 20 years of experience spanning life sciences research, startup ventures, intellectual property management and technology transfer, Rakhi oversees the university's licensing operations and intellectual property portfolio. She works closely with university leadership, inventors, industry partners, entrepreneurs and investors to develop commercialization strategies, establish partnerships, and accelerate the translation of research discoveries into real-world applications. Prior to joining the University of Arizona, she served on the licensing team in the Office of Technology Transfer at the University of Michigan and previously conducted molecular biology and genomics research at both Stanford University and a biotechnology startup in Northern California.

Rakhi holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Applied Biosciences from the University of Arizona, and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
