Allen Freed has over 40 years of experience in launching, running and selling businesses, mostly within the food and nutraceutical/supplement industries, although he has also been involved in software, publishing and consumer packaged goods as well as other diverse industries. Allen was the CEO of Gum Technology, a provider of technical ingredients to the food industry, for over 30 years. He has authored and co-authored several books related to food technology. Allen sits on the board of the Research Chef’s Association and has sat on several other food-related boards or been an elected official of trade/educational organizations such as the Institute of Food Technology. Allen also sits on, or has sat on, several corporate and nonprofit boards, and advises private equity firms on mergers and acquisitions.
