Tech Blog: Novel Cube-Corner Retro-Reflector Increases Accuracy in Long Distance Measuring

A retro-reflector is a device or surface that is capable of reflecting light back to its source with minimal scattering. UA’s Russell Chipman, Ph.D., and Karlton Crabtree, Ph.D., created a novel design for a retro-reflector that increases the reflection efficiency while reducing the complexity of the system.

UA Licenses Tunable Laser Technology to Startup

The University of Arizona has licensed a new tunable laser technology invented in the College of Optical Sciences to startup TPhotonics, Inc. The technology allows for devices that can produce a beam and tweak its wavelength on-the-fly.
