Nov. 3, 2017

Tucson, Ariz. -- University of Arizona Associate Vice President Bruce Wright received the COO/Leadership Equivalent Award for a non-profit organization during the 2017 Executive Excellence Award presented by Tucson Local Media and Inside Tucson Business.

Since the inception of the UA Tech Park in 1994, Bruce Wright, who serves as CEO of the Park has been resourceful in directing the Park. Under Wright’s leadership, the UA Tech Park developed into an economic powerhouse - growing technology companies and providing high-quality jobs for the region.

The Park is self-sufficient with revenue derived from the leaseholds of the Tech Park companies. The revenue generated from the 46 companies located at the Park are reinvested into the development and expansion of the Tech Park at Rita Road, as well as into the development of the new Tech Park at The Bridges. Resources are also used to fund technology commercialization both at the University of Arizona and in the community through support from the Arizona Center for Innovation, a technology business incubator.

Executive Leadership awards were presented to 14 individuals with 40 finalists highlighted during a celebratory dinner. More than 75 nominations were submitted by colleagues and business associates to support nominees that exemplified outstanding leadership, knowledge and a level of accomplishment, placing them at the top of their fields.
