DyShaun Muhammad

Commercialization Partner
Fractional CMO & Brand Strategist
Partner, Jasper + Black Inc., Brand & Strategy Practice

DyShaun Muhammad is a brand and marketing strategist with 25 years of experience taking products to market across CPG, technology, multi-unit retail, and direct-to-consumer categories. He brings a commercial lens to early-stage ideas: what consumers actually want, how brands earn attention in crowded markets, and where companies typically underestimate the gap between a working product and a scalable business.

His career spans some of the most consequential brand challenges in consumer marketing. He led Uber Eats' global brand overhaul, overseeing a large international team through a period of rapid revenue growth. At General Mills, his repositioning work drove meaningful sales and profit gains for legacy brands. He joined Salad and Go as its first CMO, building marketing infrastructure from scratch at a multi-unit fast casual brand. At Mister Car Wash, he directed brand strategy for a $1B category leader across hundreds of locations. Earlier in his career, he co-founded a consumer products company that grew DTC revenue significantly and earned retail placement at Nordstrom, J.Crew, and The Container Store.

A native of Huntsville, Alabama, DyShaun holds an MBA from Emory University's Goizueta Business School and is a graduate of the Cannes Lions CMO Accelerator. He serves as Expert-in-Residence at Rippleworks, advising global social impact ventures on growth and brand strategy.

DyShaun is a trainer and mentor with StartUp Tucson, where he works directly with early-stage founders on positioning, market entry, and go-to-market strategy. He runs Jasper+Black LLC, a marketing and product consultancy focused on strategy for startup and founder-led brands. He and his husband/business partner also own and operate the largest independent bookstore in Omaha, Nebraska.
