Marie Wesselhoft
As a Mentor-in-Residence, Marie Wesselhoft is part of TLA's Venture Development team, working with life sciences teams to develop and position UA startups for success. She is also president and co-founder of MSDx(link is external), Inc. an early-stage company focused on commercializing blood tests for brain diseases. She has upwards of 35 years of healthcare business experience in the diagnostic, device, and provider industry. She has held positions such as vice president and general manager, vice president of marketing, area vice president of sales and operations, and product manager during her twenty-year career at Cardinal/Baxter/American Hospital. In her role as general manager of the company's scientific products, Marie was responsible for the diagnostics business. Prior to MSDx, she served as the director for the Arizona Center for Innovation, the high-tech business incubator located at the UA Tech Park at Rita Road, and participated in the McGuire Program at the Eller College of Management. Early in Marie’s career she was a hospital laboratory director for Humana in the Chicago healthcare market. She currently serves on several advisory boards including the Academy Village Assisted Living Corporation, BIO Southern Arizona, Tech Launch Arizona, the University of Arizona BIO5 Institute(link is external), and the Allendale Home for Children.
