Kennedy Nyairo serves as the Senior Licensing Manager for the James C. Wyant College of Optical Sciences. He has more than 20 years of experience spanning business development, product/portfolio management, product and services marketing, technology commercialization and licensing, intellectual property management, R&D, private equity, and venture capital. He has worked with both public and private companies including Lucent Technologies, Intelsat, British Technology Group (BTG), IPValue and Techquity Capital Management.
Kennedy has successfully led several IP management and monetization programs related to computing, optical data storage, telecommunications, eCommerce, semiconductor, and optoelectronics technologies. He has significant experience in developing and executing IP monetization strategies including patent licensing, technology transfer and venture creation. He has also led technology and market due-diligence, patent analysis and valuation in support of patent licensing, mergers and acquisitions, and venture creation. He has a Ph.D. in optoelectronics from Cambridge University and an MBA in business strategy from Georgetown University.
