SBIR/STTR Funding – Arizona Regional Summit
The Federal funding programs Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR), provide over $2.6 billion each year for R&D to qualified small businesses. These grants can provide non-dilutive funding that can bring both capital and opens doors.
Learn about these opportunities, talk with experienced companies and connect with networks to navigate the complex process.
Small businesses as well as university faculty and researchers will learn about federal SBIR and STTR programs from representatives from federal agencies and small businesses that have had success in such collaborations. Winning awards in these highly competitive federal programs requires strategic proposals and a thorough understanding of funding agency goals. Representatives from various agencies will be in attendance, including DARPA, Navy, Department of Energy, Missile Defense Agency, National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Standards and Technology, United States Department of Agriculture, United States Patent and Trademark Office and NASA. Learn about local resources available to support your proposal.
Experience in individual meetings with the program representatives how your technology or research fits a need. Attendees have the opportunity to apply for a one-on-one meeting with representatives from agencies. Since slots are limited and not every applicant may be granted one of these exclusive one-on-one opportunities, we recommend registering and applying for an appointment as early as possible.
Connect to the resources available to support you throughout the process. A showcase of SBIR/STTR programs and exhibitors will include, but not be limited to, small business consultants, grant writers and reviewers, legal resources, accounting services and workforce development providers.
