UA research and invention doesn't occur in a vacuum but within the context of an ecosystem of enterprise and innovation. Within our primary focus of moving UA intellectual property into meaningful applications there are several ways that we engage with local, regional and national businesses.
Note that this section of our site explains our interaction with businesses as a whole, but individual business professionals also have many opportunities to collaborate in our work as TLA Allies.
What You Should Know about TLA
Leveraging UA Technologies & Inventions
The UA currently has hundreds of patented inventions with wide-ranging applications, all of which are available for licensing. You can search UA technologies on your own or contact us to see if there's a UA innovation that could help solve your business problem or add value to your enterprise.
Leveraging UA Facilities
Through Tech Parks Arizona, TLA helps companies test, evaluate and demonstrate applications of new technologies on interactive ground. At the UA Tech Park, emerging companies as well as technology giants work side-by-side in a dynamic environment that provides office space, wet and dry labs, R&D space, production and warehouse space and more.
SBIR/STTR Tech House
Tech House helps small businesses navigate federal and other non-dilutive funding opportunities and prepare stronger proposals for SBIR/STTR grants. Tech House connects small businesses with educational and networking events throughout the year. It also connects small businesses with each other, as well as brings together larger businesses and UA resources, all with the goal of strengthening Southern Arizona's small business ecosystem.
As one of the largest and most accomplished research universities in the country, the UA is well positioned to help companies gain ground on pressing R&D needs. Sponsored research brings knowledge and data to businesses while supporting vital faculty work.
